For Those About To Sweat ...We Salute You..Heat and Humidity

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

No what? We're on Eastern flank..Not right in middle.

Anyway..your employer  June forecast in trouble if what you are saying is true with all this cold around.

I'm talking about next week, not June. The heat and high dews are gone for at least the next 5 days or so.

We knew that 5 days ago

You were hyping up a TC coming up the coast and helping to keep swamp. Looks like whatever happens may remain just offshore and keep the swamp away. Then an overall troughly look here with thicknesses remaining seasonable or a little below. Doesn't mean a day or two of swamp comes in, but the heat is gone for a while.

Sunny and dry weekend?

Had an overnight low of 72° F last night, which is incredible. It's tough to get a low greater than 70° F here in mid summer let alone in early June. The only way it happens is during a heatwave with a brisk southerly flow, which is exactly what we had last night. We will often radiate into the 60s, even during heatwaves. Average mid summer lows are in the high 50s to low 60s.

FYI, average min for 6/2 is 50° F. Average high is 71° F, so we were above our normal high last night. :axe:

Shout out to Boston peeps, last three days were +15 +20 +18  a very impressive 3 days completely blowing the "cold" period out of Boston Harbor -which was -13 -10 -1 -4.  Seems so easy to get monster positive departures even in a normal pattern.

Another perfect beach day on tap.

It's a pretty abnormal pattern. Warm SW flow. You can't assume it's just as easy to get a +15 in June compared to a -15 in June. The Spring and early summer as periods where we really can get huge + departures. Likewise in later June and July we can get big - departures with martime flow.

I thought outside Friday thats its been very pleasant, dews have run low..........we have had a healthy sea breeze here every afternoon.  Pretty meh run of the mill type stuff, feels like summer, AC is off windows open until further notice.

Was really hoping to finally taste some humidity later next week, but that looks like a miss.

That's impressive to min out above 70F in a mtn valley this time of year. Up here it was 64F for a low which is really warm for this site (we average like 55F in mid-summer) but it also rained all night which kept temps from dropping.

What I just realized is the average high at the local MVL is 71F...same as you...but the average low is 45F (5F lower than you), so it was also +20 on the overnight temps up here.

Most places dews have hit or exceeded 70 in the morning until mix out around noon..so we've had lots of swamp in the mornings thankfully

At least 70 isn't too bad for home stations...especially in the AM when there is sfc dew influence.
