For Those About To Sweat ...We Salute You..Heat and Humidity

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

Remember those days last summer where MOS had 100F for BOS a couple days out and they didn't even reach 90F? I think that happened twice. Not sure why it does that sometimes. It was spitting out like 96 at ORH too which is just absurd. I think MOS busted by a solid 8F that event in many spots. There was another where it was a good 5F.

Those numbers look warm to me too...esp further north.

LOL, yeah I remember. I suppose with good west winds and maybe 17-18C at 850 it could be like 93-95 at BOS-BDL, but 98 at ASH looks a little much.

At least dews wint be too bad with mixing and wrly winds. Maybe Sunday and Monday more swamp type stuff.

Euro ensembles look nice going forward after this weekend. Quite troughy in the east out to the end of the run. That should be a nice mix of comfortable airmasses and then storm chances during the times we are on the eastern flank of the trough.

All the nasty heat stays out in the western CONUS. Hopefully it pans out.

Can we lose the "deep summer" part of the title? Hyping is one thing, but keeping something factually wrong in the title doesn't make the board look good.

You are forgetting that there are only two seasons...deep summer from May 1 to Oct 1...and deep winter from Oct to May.

MOS still has 98 for ASH tomorrow. I do see we mix to about 800mb on the GFS. Still seems a little high to me, but deep mixing and wsw winds...maybe we get to 96 or so in the typical torch spots. Should be a nice downslope dandy for Dendrite off the Monads.

How is deep summer wrong? 90s and humid with storms isn't summer?

2 days of heat and humidity bookended by nice weather (and a snow event 5 days prior)...if that is deep summer then what will you call late July if we string together say 5 days of HHH together?

Thankfully cooler where real people work and live.
