TWCCraig
Beautiful day here. Temps in the low 70's, sun's out and nice breeze! Clouds racing across the sky with a very low ceiling. Amazing.
Weathergun
I've had some torrential downpours here with some thunderstorms. Another t-storm is coming up from NY Harbor/Manhattan. The convection has already zapped away our instability. Our low and mid-level lapse rates poor are from NYC/NNJ. And I don't think we'll recover. bluewave
1.73" of rain at NYC so far. It looks like that gives NYC 6.99" on the month or the tenth wettest May on record ahead of 1998 at 6.94".
NorthShoreWx
I just finished mowing the lawn. Perfect weather for it...66 with a healthy breeze. Everything dried out nicely from the brief heavy shower (0.17") that we had just after 8 this morning. We briefly touched 76 with a little sunshine earlier this afternoon. Total May precip IMBY is 2.47" so far. Now Saturdays weather is going to be very unfortunate timing. I'll be outside watching a track meet all day. C'est la vie. Wxnyc
1.73" of rain at NYC so far. Weird here in Brooklyn we picked up about 0.14 inch all day, the heavy rains trained just 5-8 miles west northwest of us.
