JoMo
My question is why doesn't a school in Moore Ok have a large storm shleter? They have to have FEMA matching funds or something to build a shelter. That requires money, and usually an increase in property taxes for the locals, which requires a vote. I bet when they rebuild the schools, they will have shelters. PennyForYourThoughts
Death toll just jumped to 51. says 51 deaths in Oklahoma ( state wide I'm assuming) May be including deaths from yesterdays tornadoes perhaps?
hurricaneman
The biggest problem I have seen is if the tornado is not visable to the person, they don't take shelter even if the warning is for a large violent tornado kind of like I will only take shelter if I see the tornado which in that case is last minute prep which can lead to deadly consequences. So in breif use common sense and if you have a shelter please go to your shelter as soon as the warning is issued
