Derecho! Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 Brownwood warned cell has been training for 3 hrs. They probably have some decent hail accumulation there too. Haven't seen any pics though. I think a lot of the "DFW in Danger!" stuff was from people not from the area not used to the painfully slow and erratic movement of Texas tornadoes, and they were mentally putting this cell in the DFW area to the NE in an hour or so (3 hours ago). WINDS...SUSTAINED 40 MPH WINDS...GUSTING TO 60 MPH AT TIMES. WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE PERSISTENT...BUT ANY LIGHT ANVIL CLOUD PRECIPITATION WILL DRAG STRONG LOW LEVEL JET WINDS DOWN TO THE SURFACE...RESULTING IN STRONG TO DAMAGING WINDS THROUGH MIDNIGHT.
