Chicago WX
IND might want to check their math (it's 7 days right now, not 8 days). http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=ind&storyid=96354&source=0 Record Consecutive days of below 80 degrees The last day to reach 80 degrees in Indianapolis occurred on July 23rd. Since then, the high temperature at Indianapolis has failed to reach 80 degrees each day. Here is a list of High temperatures at Indianapolis since July 20th. So far, we have experienced 8 days in a row where the high temperature has failed to reach 80 degrees. High Temperature at Indianapolis July 20 83 July 21 83 July 22 83 July 23 91 July 24 77 July 25 79 July 26 79 July 27 78 July 28 73 July 29 78 July 30 74 The last time the high temperature at Indianapolis failed to reach 80 degrees for 8 days in a row was in 1871. This occurred from July 16th to July 23rd that year. There has never been a string of 9 days in a row on record where the temperature failed to reach 80 degrees in July at Indianapolis. However, 9 days of below 80 degree temperatures will occur later today if the high temperature fails to reach 80 degrees. The current forecasted high temperature for today is in the upper 70s. Thus, we have a pretty good chance of seeing an event, that has not occurred in the last 142 years.

Chicago WX
It's sort of weird that we average more than BMG and IND. I don't think that's accurate. I assume the chunk of missing data in the 1981-2010 data set is skewing the average higher than it actually is...and not accounting for any quality of observations as well.
