ahh, misreports of wedge tornadoes. spring is here.

Where did you hear the report of a wedge?  The tor in the photo above looks like a cone to me.  The one to the north in Montague county was reported to be a quarter mile wide.   Ahh...I see the report above of a wedge on I-20 which may not have been correct.

New NWS warning update incorporates the wedge wording, lol.

One of the more intersting TWs I've seen in a while

don't know how many people are looking at the storm down to the S on Hood County. but with the last couple of frames, and the reported movement of the tornado to the north, could we see a storm merger or a boundary clash of some type near the NWS radar site near ft worth-spinks apt?

Can you do dual-pol cross sections? Should be about as classic a ZDR column on that thing as you'll see. Pretty prominent differential attenuation behind the hail core visible in the ZDR like you mentioned.

And check out the ZDR arc and ZDR hole north of it on the northern sup near Sunset, TX. Textbook. I can't do cross sections but it looks like the ZDR column extends to at least 20,800 ft on the 3.5 deg tilt.

Sorry, I had to run to dinner. Yes the ZDR column was present to the -10°C level, after that it turned into grapul and eventually large hail (very low ZDR (mie scattering) and reduced CC) as it started to fall into the FFD. I didn't catch the Sunset, TX cell during it's prime, but right now it's ZDR column is also at the -10°C level.
