CT Rain
Skies "anviling" over now with dark clouds just to our west beneath the anvil. It looks like a 2 cell complex. The presently warned southern cell may slip just to my south, but the northern one may get me. Almost looks like it's trying to form a mini-line. The cell just south of Albany looks better. Sn0waddict
Hopefully we can get something down here on the shore, it's surprisingly warmer than I thought it would be. This looks to be the first legitimate chance for severe in some areas.
free_man
Good luck all in WNE, hopefully Tolland receives some severe damage too. Chances are pretty much nil east of EEN/ORH.
Weathergun
Almost looks like it's trying to form a mini-line. The cell just south of Albany looks better. It's turning multicelluar.

radarman
Dual pol confirms TBSS on that Columbia County NY cell. Curious what you mean by this.... Are you saying you are seeing a hail sig in ZDR which lends credence to the fact that there is a TBSS and not some other noise?

CoastalWx
Meso models keep storms going well into tonight. They look like they may want to train across that bondary They are also shoving activity pretty far east which seems suspicious, but we'll see. If winds at 850 are strong enough..sometimes it can happen..but looks a little aggressive here.

But as the warm front rides back to your north tonight I bet you'll see some elevated stuff. That may be what they're picking up
CoastalWx
That cell has to be dropping at least ping pongs.

Conclue
The cell just south of Albany is visually dominant in the skies in Colonie, dark skies to my south hazy blue to my north. I could tell prior to checking radar a second time that this would be an impressive storm considering it's "root" if you will was well south of Albany at the time I left the house but I could see the expanding darkening clouds move in over Albany. Definitely an impressive sight just being on it's boundary. Rapidly intensifying as I ran to Panera to get food before the action starts this afternoon. LOL I knew it must have exploded in the 15 minutes I was gone. That more southern cell has such a signature of hail it's crazy! Since I had to edit, that GR2 image is nuts! WOW! Today should be really interesting, and yet I knew nothing of any of this being possible this week. I'm so into my research I have no idea what goes on with the weather.
