It has been raining since 5am this morning. I'm on the edge of the band but its still pouring. It also looks as if the band is starting to change its orientation from S to N to SSE TO NNW. that may keep cobb county in that band a bit longer... This thing is crawling east.

5" totals starting to show up in NW GA and SE TN

2.76" at hartsfield airport today.... Still coming down. This has been an amazing event for metro Atlanta so far. What a treat being in the low 50's and rain all day on May 4th to top it off.

The last time KATL had 2.76"+ on any one calendar day was all the way back on 5/3/2010, when 2.81" fell!

There is a solid line of very heavy showers and some thunder from Northeast of Macon to east of Valdosta GA that is moving almost due north and seems to be aimed at the upstate of SC. The rain already here in the upstate is slowly increasing so flooding may become an issue around here by sometime after daylight.

I haven't seen it but I heard short range models picked up on the stopping earlier today.

i really hope GSP moves the flood watches east aswell as RDU. Charlotte cant take more than 2 inches with all the asphalt thats on the ground.

No rain for me. Most of that around JAX is clutter.
