Baroclinic Zone
Certainly...they all have. But i'd rather see the mos the way it is now rather than having 0 to 2's in the snow column. If that was the case u could almost immediately throw out the nam. Therefore fwiw the climo built into the model is seeing something too gotcha. GFS does not look all that bad imo. weathafella
GFS decidedly further NW with qpf.
SnowLove
If we ever truly had a now casting event this storm will be it. This could be one of the biggest model callapse's in history. Now I know I sound like Im going a bit over board. But the seriousness of the unfolding weather situation would warrent that type of statement. 24hrs left and this thing is leaning left!!!! The trend is actually a trend. All forecasters must be pulling the hair out of their heads. U have to feel for them!!!! This straight to you from the Accuweather Forums. Heed these words, or else... dendrite
GFS is a bit NW of the 18z run thru 42. Looks a bit like the 18z GEFs at first glance.
weathafella
Trying to resolve the classic double barreled low. ....but definitely further NW and still coming through 45.
weathafella
Has NAM ever scored a coup like this in recent years????

Mr Torchey
Yes but I'm not sure what to think about where I am a few miles from the east near Boston. Actually gets me down here, but briefly, some sort of inverted junk, did not realize how quickly the precip moves out, I hope the nam verifies for you guys

CCPSUSuperstorm2010
Wasn't really expecting the 00z GFS to be like the NAM at all, but the trend is further NW with the QPF and that is a start.

OKpowdah
I'm still amazed at the persistence of such intense convective signals to the south.

weathafella
UKMET brings qpf to about ORH this run. Can't see the in between frames but does seem to imply continuous light snow for me from 36-60 hours or so....who the freak knows....not me. dendrite
00z Ukie is still unimpressive. A little bit for the coast before the retrograding inv trof. Of course these are 6hr QPF maps at 12hr intervals so some QPF is missing.

CT Rain
Just not enough of a shift on the gfs at this point in the game. yeah, NW but nothing dramatic. You'd want it to have a sizable shift NW to get excited. Still the NAM MOS snow numbers are very impressive.
