If we can take a step back for a moment.......

It is really funny to read through these threads after events like the disaster that just unfolded over the last 15 hours. To keep with the 80's comment earlier, it's like the ridciulous, cathartic ending to "The Breakfast Club".

Classic scene with the teacher coming out of the head with the Nixon party hat sticking out the back of his pants...

Back from the ledge. The system north of of the ND/Canada border looks pretty good right now. That's one component as it slowly spins down and around and tries to phase with the energy rocketing down from the PAC NW. The stronger it is now IMO the better.

Speaking mainly for my area up to Boston.

This system is in your wheelhouse and it is probably a similar setup to your most public victory....so keep your eyes open!

I have no idea how the RUC is outside of 12...no pattern or experience this year but its interesting to me that it's consistently slower with the system coming down north of the Dakotas v the 12z NAM. Stronger for sure, slower/west. Also looks like it wants to clear the path up here earlier. Again the problem is we've gone so far on to the miss side even a 100-150 mile shift won't help much.

I am surprised looking at the NAM/GFS that the two more southern vortmax's are kind of hard to pick out the first 12-18 hours. Kind of unusual at this stage and I wonder if this is why we are seeing so much flopping. For whatever reason the off hour NAM runs seem to catch these things, let's keep the fingers crossed as we absolutely need to see a good trend now.

You gotta love this 10 day euro map:

-Block east of Kamchatka about to force the GOA low to retrograde, which makes room for PNA spike. Check.

-Powerful southern stream disturbance in the southwest. Check.

-Robust 50/50. Check.

-Burgeoning NAO block. Check.

Let the vigil begin. I'll see y'all at 1am ...just hope she holds serve.
