U.S. Spring Cold And Snow Preceded By December Eurasian Deep Freeze

Recommended Posts

The record cold and snow that  the U.S. has been experiencing this spring was preceded

by unusually cold and snowy conditions in Eurasia during December. This was their second

snowiest December behind 2002 to go along with the cold there. When extreme cold and

snow has built up in Eurasia during December since 2001, cold and or snowy patterns followed

in the U.S..This year the most severe cold and snow relative to the means took a little

longer than the earlier years to reach here. February was an intermediate month when

we saw the coldest temperatures move from Siberia into the Arctic. It also happened

to be one of the coldest Februaries in the Arctic in recent years.
