Really? Where in New England is this spring nearly as mild as 2010 or 2012? Farmington COOP was 5.17F cooler in March-April 2013 than the avg for 2010+2012 in March-April. They were 3.3F above the 1981-2010 norm for May in those two years, and based on my temps 6 miles to the east, I'm guessing they're about +2 this May, so are now almost 4F cooler than 2010/2012. If one looks only at average maxima, it's closer thanks to abundant sunshine, and I won't argue with your last sentence.

He was comparing this year with the record warmth of 2012, saying that can't be used as a standard for SNE temperatures.

BOX seems to have a good handle

POSITION OF THE BACKDOOR FRONT WILL DETERMINE TEMPERATURE
VARIABILITY ACROSS SNE AND WHERE BEST CHC OF CONVECTION WILL BE.
WE FOLLOWED NAM SOLUTION WHICH TYPICALLY HANDLES THE LOCATION OF
THESE SHALLOW FRONTS DUE TO ITS HIGHER RESOLUTION. THIS SUGGESTS
FRONT WILL MAKE IT AS FAR WEST AS CENTRAL MA TO RI.

sheet drizzle

Been a perfect day, light rain and drizzle....every last drop getting soaked in.

viva la drizzle

How do you go from a "perfect" day of 50s/60s with sheet drizzle to two days later saying it turned out to be a fantastic summer week? Or are you just talking about the upcoming week like it already happened?

Turned out to be a fantastic summer like week here.

it's tuesday. still plenty of time left in the week for "meh"

and btw, it may not be "meh" in your area, but in the areas that experience the backdoor, it will be entirely "meh" there

Very summer-like, had to run the A/C for the first time this year.

Damaging times ahead for some electricity bills.

How's it going in the tropics of Connecticut (BTW, which is not representative of all of New England)? There are places in New England where it's in the 40's this morning and will not make it out of the 50's today. Add to that some much needed rain that's going to fall today and tomorrow. Your obsession with your little corner of CT being the climatological mean for New England is laughable. New England is 71,991.8 square miles in area. Your acre of existence is but a "speck" in this awesome landscape.

I love these posts filled with rage towards my love of warmth, but if I wanted it really warm I would drive up to ORH where they will be much warmer as forecast by the NWS..........its 65 there now, compared to my lonely 61.

CT FAIL:(

I hope this is the hottest summer ever with unbearable dew points day after day.

I truly do.

i met a few in south florida who really enjoy the humidity there, they were strange folks lol jk, but most didnt crave 70+ dew points from june to early oct with no break many years, u think u may enjoy that LL or to long in duration?

If we're talking about weather that people experience, then Connecticut is representative as it accounts for a quarter of New England's population and contains half of the top 10 largest cities. Even if you narrowed it down to Mr. Torchey's little corner of little Connecticut, that speck still contains nearly a million of New England's 14 million people.
