ORH_wxman
Over a half inch here now for the total. Looks like some heavier rains stalled just south of here....probably some decent totals there. Kudos to Euro ensembles for sniffing this one out nearly 2 weeks out. Had the synoptic pattern signaled quite well.

joey2002
Photos of funnels, radar rotation, and wind damage strongly indicates that a brief tornado touched down in Stoughton. Were any warnings (severe or tornado) issued at all during the afternoon? https://twitter.com/HarveyWCVB/status/332717181299195904/photo/1/large
weatherwiz
The GFS is a tad interesting for Saturday. Develops a narrow corridor of weak sf based instability with around 500 J of Cape along with LI values around -2C, TT up near 50 and KI into the low 30's. GFS also has much steeper lapse rates than the NAM does as well. If the GFS is correct could perhaps see a few isolated strong/brief severe cells with threat for wind/hail. CoastalWx
harvey says it was likely a TOR It didn't look like much rotation on radar, but I guess brief spin up possible. Who knows.

CoastalWx
There was a little appendage on the radar....and some of the pics have this curled away from what looked like the main base of the tstm. Might just be a brief spin up, not totally uncommon with the ULL curling NE over us.

CoastalWx
Deep thoughts The problem is that it warms aloft, but a WF gets stuck west. We are mild, but with SE winds. One of those deals where upstate NY may be warmest. That cutoff to our east will shunt the true heat SW.
