Quincy
Can we manage a few 80°F readings tomorrow? 18z NAM suggests upper 70's in the usual warm spots in the CT River Valley and northeastern Mass.
Sugarloaf1989
No flowers on the red maple, or have they fallen? Huge flowering on RM up here, and when that happens they switch to growing seeds and leaf-out is delayed. The flowers on the Red Maples have fallen and made a mess. Come to think of it upon further thought, all of the tree's in that picture are Maples. It's been cool here for the last few day's with high's mostly below 70F and a freeze yesterday morning, so that's slowing up the foliage growth. Sugarloaf1989
Ding ding ding. Even if it goes as planned it will be said that it wasn't even close to helping the situation. Amazing how the guy who loves his lawn more than anything is hoping for a crippling drought all summer. And he want's high heat and humidity while living at close to 1,000'. powderfreak
Montpelier (MPV) ASOS is 76/12 for 8% RH. That's one of the lowest RH readings I can remember at an official climate sight in a while for New England. Another 40F< diurnal spread back home with a high of 80F after a low of 38F at Morrisville-Stowe airport. NNE seems to be having the highest temps lately, with these large 40 to even 50 degree swings from high to low in the mountain valleys. I wonder if that has to do with leaf out occurring at spots to the south while being a bit slower in the hill country of NNE. Would no leaves and this dry airmass be a factor in allowing mountain valley spots like SLK at 1650ft to hit these like 50F swings from near 80F to sub-freezing at night? Typhoon Tip
Those D9 and 10 panels look like good MCS set up... You got a WSW/SW flow underneath WNW screaming 500mb westerlies where the first subtropical ridge expansion of the season kiss the residual colder heights over SE Canada. In fact, the Euro even has a weak cool fropa in there, but that type of set up might do it the other way.

Mr Torchey
Man, yet another morning of absolute san diego sunny perfection!!!!!! Crystal clear blue skies, 54 degrees, just a classic. I am PRAYING for rain, this streak has been unbelievable but, I can't stand it anymore...............I need to see some clouds and water something to change up the weather. 1/4 to half inch tomorrow won't do much as a lot of the water is just going to run off initially as the top soil is baked and hard as a rock. Please Dear Lord above let it rain, please I beg of you. BSEIII cruises on, unabated and true to its name!!! Viva La Spring!

HIPPYVALLEY
Tandy Andys drought begat drought is going down in a 5 day wet period. Local newspaper ran a front page article today how the dry spell has already caused headaches for W MA farmers. Days of rain would be nice but we'll see what actually falls out here. Viva La Spring! Its gotta start somewhere....and 1/4-1/2" is a start. Just look at it like a 3-6" snow after a snowless Nov/Dec...not big but its a start. Though folks should be prepared for all the "that was a useless rain event" posts and all the "meh still 4.5 inches under for the year." Make it the best rain ever.
