Really solely being driven by fuels too. The meteorological conditions for red flags are just barely being met, if at all. Our RHs haven't' been getting much lower than 30%, and winds haven't been strong enough (outside of the sea breeze which actually helps to raise the RH values).

So fire danger is elevated, but fire behavior is not.

Yeah...I'm not sure if there is any scientific rhyme or reason to their "Smokey" fire danger levels. I've seen red flag days at low or moderate and high days after rain events. Town to town can have drastically different levels too.

I thought it was a perfect night to burn tonight in the pit. Cool high RH no wind so we did, in fact I am there right now.

28° here off a high of 71° for a nice diurnal range.  It's been a while since I've had one that large.  I'll have to look to see when the last one was.

Edit:  Looks like March 2010 was the last time I had wild swings like this.  From the 17th to the 22nd I had a stretch of dry, warm weather.  The 20th had a high of 75° and a low of 32°.

Might not be a 3" slug of rain, but looks like it turns wetter and perhaps relatively cool going forward. Of course this will depend on when or if a front stalls nearby. Tough to say for now, but might be a bit of a yo-yo.

Congrats PF d10.

Euro is pretty wet after d4. That would put any dryness concerns to rest. Looks like a trough axis over the GL region in the extended on the ec ens. We're due for a little payback after this 2 week stretch of nice weather.

Euro ensembles look like they did a pretty good job with the rain threat later this week.
