It has nothing to do with that. It's the mainstream media that has to hype and blame AGW on visual stimulating impacts like floods and tornadoes. Record lows and low tornado counts just aren't hip enough to be blamed on AGW.

TWC blames climate change on everything... warm, cold, wet, dry, high, low.

They hype it up like Kevin wrote the script lol

Yeah that place is a couple miles from here..Pretty big place. Right by the indoor soccer bubble..Tolland is world renowned lol

I saw one the other day. Mutter to myself  "F%ing Tolland"

Kevin doesn't know how many people's lives he's affected.

When I first joined the board I remember being surprised to see an active member from Tolland.

Little did I know how infamous he made our little town on here... lol

I remember over the years all the posts from various posters saying that track was impossible and would never happen. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this hobby is there are very limited finites.

the warm seclusion process was fascinating... watch how the dry slot filled in with showery precip as colder air wrapped around the warm core and made things unstable during landfall

The soundings showed this very well. There was good low level CAPE on all the NYC area soundings.

This was a similar feature that gave JFK the big winds in March 2010 and when you guys had your retro snow earlier in Feb. That was the big windstorm of NE MA and srn NH with 80-90mph winds. Same type of setup.

Gloria was pretty decent.

We were young then, I was around 8...but I do remember Gloria being pretty tame overall.   Only a very small portion of LI had even moderately intense hurricane conditons.  You know all of this.  If Gloria happened again, and let's imagine models and forecasts had the storm staying strong up until the W LI landfall...it'd be another fail. jmo
