CoastalWx
Awesome. Owatonna is my home town. 13" and the forecast calls for an additional 3-5". 15.5" now. RPM FTW..lol.

moneypitmike
15.5" now. RPM FTW..lol. Unbelievable. And I'm sitting working from my "deck office" today trying to figure where I would have put the table umbrella. Sun is really strong. Didnt' realize it yesterday until I discovered my face and arms had burned. 64.2/42. It's not the heat, it's the humidity. I havent' been posting much the last couple of weeks due to a variety of things--but where's HubbDave been?
CoastalWx
Its obvious the climate is changing now from its previously stable and static state. It's only cool to talk about record highs, tornadoes, and floods. Record lows and low tornado counts just aren't hip enough.

Record breaking May snowstorms are now caused by climate change in 2013...record breaking May snowstorms in 1977 were caused by cold weather. At anyrate, enough of the hyperbole, lol. Pretty remarkable system out there, what an awesome band.

CoastalWx
a few months of cold in a particular region means the past 30 years are irrelevant It has nothing to do with that. It's the mainstream media that has to hype and blame AGW on visual stimulating impacts like floods and tornadoes. Record lows and low tornado counts just aren't hip enough to be blamed on AGW. CoastalWx
If you are going to blame climate change on high tornado counts, floods, and heat, then blame climate change causing good stuff like cooler weather, low tornado counts...etc. It goes both ways...but no....you'll only see the "bad" side of it. ORH_wxman
I think it's more about a bunch of cold/snow mongers comforting themselves Some climate scientists recently are attributing increased cold and snowy winters in the mid-latitudes to AGW by claiming the extreme blocking in recent winters is due to AGW and loss of sea ice. So it should actually be comforting to cold/snow lovers if they believe those studies.
