jburns
Yep, it's going to form in the BOC or east of CA, move NE and strengthen into a hurricane giving me the best storm of my life. No go. Even Sherman didn't chase into Waycross.

metalicwx366
Tell the moles to help out the sheared mess depicted on the models that will attempt to develop into a tropical cyclone and drench FL, GA and Carolinas I guess. I'm becoming skeptical of any tropical development in the GOM now.

CandymanColumbusGA
It probably has EVERYTHING to do with me finally seeing hail. Thanks, but I don't know how I pulled the 2nd place finish nor how it was calculated... But I'll take it! As for when the first hurricane will happen... Probably not until the end of June. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a disturbance or TC spin up in the Caribbean or eastern Gulf during the last week of May. So... Uhh.... Do I win? Even if it is Tropical Depression Barbara and off a few hundred miles from 21 days out?
metalicwx366
I guess that can count. No one expected it to make it across into the BOC.

dsaur
Those are the famous Leopard Rocks of the Serengeti. as found in the Dalmatian formation. They keep messing with my mouse, and messing up the game. All you need to do it get the ball up top and it'll just go on forever, but they make my cursor quit working at just the right moment. Bunch of damn cheaters T

In all honesty, great photograph. What kind of camera are you using, Burns? I have a pro Canon setup with all the heavy lenses I used to use for shooting sports. However these days I usually leave them at home and take my consumer long zoom and shoot for closeups. The little camera I took to the zoo was a Canon Powershot SX50 HS. Easy to carry, versatile and very capable for family type shooting. It would take some serious money to make me start lugging all that pro equipment again. calculus1
Interesting article found on Forbes magazine. Apparently the Department of Homeland Security has been forced (under the Freedom of Information Act) to release a list of words that they continuously search/monitor on social networking sites for possible threats to the country. Check out some of the flagged words: Cloud Plume Delays Hurricane Tornado Ice Snow Blizzard Our message board must be one of the most frequently monitored, then. :lmao:

I hope that cloud doesn't turn into a hurricane and cause delays along the Gulf Coast. We'd also have to watch for tornadoes and plumes of seaweed. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a raging blizzard that would bring snow and ice to Tampa. That would suck!
