I'm late responding (as usual) but I truly want to thank everyone for their kind words. Yes it's just a message board but I've "known" many of you for many many years and it really means a lot to me.

Since January of last year (when I started to lose a lot of weight and had terrible stomach cramps every night), it's been pure hell. That was bad enough. But when I hurt my back/neck so much way back in early december, things really have sucked beyond words. Just to clarify,  When I hurt my back/neck back in december, I felt a very bad rubber band like feeling (like if you took a rubber band and stretched it and along with severe pain) that went from the base of my skull, down the right side of my neck (just to the right of the spine) and all the way down to my lower back. Ever since I have had terrible pain around my scapula, muscle knots that I can't get rid of, and the neck pain which varies between the muscle that runs down it and the spine itself. It's so bad It's very hard to drive for very long and have to use pillows.

Many times everything (head, neck, back, broken ribs...and even ribs on the other side that I didn't even hit, and my stomach/abdomen) hurts at the same time and it really cripples me. I can't do anything and am in so much pain that I scream out many times.

I just had an mri back in december and then a cat scan in January and they found nothing wrong with any of my internal organs/stomach  area but they did diagnose me with 2 more diseases (musculoskeletal disease and a form of spinal disease). That goes along with my colitis disease and depression..which is considered a disease as well. So that's 4 right there..and I'm not sure what else I have.

I plan on getting more scans soon but it's gotten absurd....and if they don't find anything wrong, it makes it even more frustrating.

I get so depressed, really on a daily basis from this, not only because I'm in so much pain but because I've been in so much pain for so long, I  can't do anything physical at all (and I've always been active), it's effected my relationship with my GF in obvious ways (although she is very supportive and understanding of my situation) and the fact I'm relatively young (33) and have so many serious problems.

And the depression and pain causes me not to want to even post here...and I've always been very active on these boards for 13 plus years and I hate not being able to. It's not something I'm used to to say the least and I miss it.

At any rate, sorry for the complaining and bitching. But it feels better to talk about this stuff instead of holding it all in. If you do, you go crazy. But I hope I'm not being annoying here with all my complaints.

It sounds stupid to the regular person since it's "just a message board" but I really feel love for so many here and I love this place period. I just want you all to know though, the support and kind words means so much...and thank you all very much. I mean it.

I know where you are coming form. I've had my share of health issues but I am 65 so some are expected.  Funny thing is that right now, except for a bit of back pain if I lean forward to long, like trimming hedges for example, I feel better than I have in years. Not sure why but I am not complaining. They wanted to do back surgery on me a few years ago but since my heart attack I have a different standard of how much pain I can take before I take a surgical risk. Now I am real glad I didn't let them operate.  The point of my saying all this is to tell you that you never know what the future may bring. I wasn't supposed to be able to walk by now without surgery and I am about to start another season of softball. No, not the old fart league. So hang in there because there are better days ahead.

Health problems happen regardless of age so I can ceratinly identify. I had some serious issues when I was in my mid-30's that just kind of happened out of the blue. Now, in my mid 40's I feel fantastic but was recently diagnosed with a non-genetic blood disorder that the doctors cannot seem to find a reason for but the beat goes on. I have found the best thing you can do to persevere in cases like yours/mine is to stay positive as you possibly can. It's hard to do but if you can, it will make a huge difference. Hang in there, we are all pulling for you.

I plan on getting a lot older.

There are only two bad things I noticed.  One is, my "only the good die young" exemption expired with my last birthday.  The other is, the future headline announcing my spectacular death will start with,

Really sorry for all the pain you are going thru Chris! How long have you had Colitis for? I am 48 & have had it since my early 20s. When it flares up it is not fun! I have taken several different meds over the years for it but, I have found that some stuff at the supermarket works surprisingly well. PM me if you want any info. Thoughts & Prayers headed your way as you have a lot on your plate for 33. Just try your best to keep your chin up as better times will come.

Pssht that is nothing compared to some of those images in this thread.

One of the tornadoes was a mile wide.http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/40218-may-15th-19th-plains-stormsevere-disco/page-13

I think you missed the whole point in why I called it weather porn. Its not the rotation but the shape that made me chuckle.

This is odd.... I was doing some yard work just now...4 times I got an electric shock from picking up trimmers. (Not electric. Good ol steel.)    It's 82 degrees and 54% humidity. Never had this happen outside like that before. Any ideas?

Coool... Burns when to a Hollyweird Prop warehouse!  Is that the hand that held Fay Wray?  Is that the ostrich from Prince of Persia Sands of Time?   T

That is the hand of Nick, the male gorilla at the NC Zoo.  He was taking a nap in the sun at the time.  He is usually a busy boy.  They had two baby gorillas born in the past year and the third female is pregnant.

As long as I don't have to meet him in the yard :)

This oldie reminded me of you.....

A man walks
into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him.
The waitress asks them for their
orders.

The
man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke,' and turns to
the ostrich, 'What's yours?'

'I'll
have the same,' says the ostrich.

A
short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That
will be $9.40 please,' and the man reaches into his pocket
and pulls out the exact change for
payment.

The next day, the man and the
ostrich come again and the man says, 'A hamburger, fries
and a coke.'

The ostrich says, 'I'll have the
same.'

Again the man reaches into his
pocket and pays with exact change.

This
becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?'
asks the
waitress.

'No, this is Friday night,
so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says
the man.

'Same,' says the
ostrich.

Shortly the waitress brings the
order and says, 'That will be $32.62..'

Once
again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and
places it on the table.

The waitress
cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me,
sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact
change in your pocket every time?'

'Well,'
says the man, 'several years ago I was cleaning the attic
and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared
and offered me two wishes. My first wish was
that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put
my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would
always
be there.'

'That's brilliant!'
says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million
dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you
want for as long as you live!'

'That's
right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the
exact money is always there,' says the
man...

The waitress asks, 'What's with the
ostrich?'

The
man sighs, pauses and answers, 'My second wish was for a
tall chick with a big butt and long legs who agrees with
everything I say.'
