The MCS moving across Iowa overnight was stratiforming out  and wasn't impressive at all for most areas, but I was in just the right spot along the MCV path.  I got about 0.80" of rain in ten minutes and ended up with another 1.15", my third 1+" rain in four days.

DVN's afternoon shift really hyped up this morning's action as a possible major flash flood event, but that was a total bust.  Most areas just got some light to moderate rain.

The radar looks pretty interesting, with the comma head in NW Illinois resembling a low pressure center, the line of showers/t'storms stretching into MI resembling a warm front and the line of shows stretch south into IL/MO resembling a cold front.

Been in the 40 & 50's here except for an hr sunday and then it was back down to lower 50's in the afternoon since last wed at 11am...  Today's rain will put us around 11" for the last 2 months.  Couple warm days and then around normal and below for a bit..   GFS fantasy land going out to near mid June now and days will ever so slowly be getting shorter not too long after..  sweeet.

Grass is growing silly fast and hard to find times to cut it when dry enough.

:stun: I would have liked to seen that.

As typical as it is to see 40s and 50s in spring here, it is hard to believe that with all the rain we have seen, I think it's only been above 60 or 65 once for those rain events (last Monday evening I think).

Humid today, but much nicer over yesterday. Temperature rising fast - up to 75°.

Yep, most humid it has probably been at this time of day, especially considering it hasn't hit 70 yet.  Temp rose into the mid 60s even with solid overcast.  If the warm front could bump north just a tad more than expected, perhaps the atmosphere will reload for more convection tonight.

Saw the sun finally tonite..for about 20 minutes.

Morels have been insane this year, by what i was hearing over the weekend.  Several people i know in Wisconsin and across the river in MN had picked 10+ pounds of them in the last few days... all this rain obviously is helping them pop...

You'll get some warmer air sooner or later DLL.

Just got down with about a 15 minute downpour here. 71/68 right now.

Even though I'm sure it's frustrating for DLL to not have the warmth making it there yet, I look at places like Boston facing three straight days of 90+ at the end of the week with dry weather and I'm reminded how at least we aren't facing the persistent dry heat of last summer.  90s in May here would be almost out of the question, though it happens once in awhile.  I'm pretty sure we haven't seen consecutive 90 degree days in May though (which Boston most likely will the final two days of the month).

Thought it might be uncomfortable sleeping weather tonight but easterly flow is dropping temps pretty efficiently near the lake.  MKE's temps are busting big time versus the low 60s expected.  53F at the midnight observation there.  Looks like Chicago still getting some scattered t'storms in the area.
