It could be one of the chilliest Memorial Day weekends in a long time, although actual Memorial Day looks to be the best with highs prob around 70 to low 70s.

It may be the coldest that we have seen so late in May since the chilly ending of May 2005 when there were

lows below 50 degrees.

May 1961 and 1967 ended on a cold note with snow and ice pellets to the north around Memorial day...A far cry from the searing heat we had in 1986 and 1987 the end of May...

Ugh. These weekends have sucked lately.

We'll probably get a very hot weekend next week. This is from the 12z Euro. The 0z Euro had 850s soaring above 18 Degrees C in some locations in the longer range. It will likely get even warmer after this frame. The later frames haven't quite updated yet.

I'll be in Isla Verde Puerto Rico by then, assuming my flight gets out of JFK on time at 6am Sunday morning.

What luck then.

There tend to be big warm ups after a significant cool down and that's exactly what the gfs and Euro show.

Given it will be early June, some 90s are def possible, a few years ago I remember a very strong early June heat wave where it must have hit the upper 90s at least for several days.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. My birthday is on the 6th and I'm playing golf on the 7th and the 8th so hopefully it's not overwhelmingly hot

The move to the close off the UL overhead will make this one of the coolest and dampest Memorial Day weekends in a while.
