...looks pretty cloudy today as was saturday..from now on out its all

about beach weather..we got only 15-16 weekends that make up

the summer beach season here on the east end..hoping for those 'bermuda

high' conditions..which makes the beach the place to be.

The ocean is still pretty cold and the weather on the immediate coast is still too cool for great beach weather.

While many flock to the coast for Memorial Day weekend, true beach weather really starts around 4th of July.

Also cool and dry for this years Memorial Day weekend, prob low to mid 60s at the beaches.

we could see a day or two above 80 this week and that will take the monthly average on the plus side...The last week in May could even things out...May will end up within a half of a degree from normal+-...The first 90 degree day in Central Park can come at any time from this week to mid July...My guess this year's first 90 will come in mid to late June this year...I thought we would have seen one by now...

First 90 degrees or above date...

eight times since 1949 the first 90 came in April...Five times it came as late as July...

Nice stats unc. Im going to copy this into the 90 degree thread. While this week will be much more summer like, I dont think many places will reach 90 yet.  I do think there is potential between late May and the first week of June of the first widespread 90s but plenty of time to see how things evolve.  May has been wet thanks to the rain w weeks ago, so we'll see if over growth keeps the park cooler and behind some of the other places.

Up to 0.40" of rain so far today.

Surprised you had that much.  Been nothing but sporadic drizzle here  today.  Dingy and wet weekend.   Been a bunch of nice weekends most of the spring - so i guess we were do.  Next weekend, while looking cool looks to be mainly dry and sunny as we kick off summer.

Perhaps we'll see ridging push east once past Memorial day weekend towards the 29th.  Today's euro was moving in that direction.

That trough over eastern Canada has to get out before we have any real warm weather. Too much threat for backdoor fronts or days such as the last two with that in place. We need the Bermuda high to finally set up.
