I mean compared to just 24 hours ago when it looks like we'd see multiple rounds more through this afternoon.  Obv 2-5" region wide is impressive.

 

 

just giving you poop.    up here we dodged a bullet for sure.  last week also the really heavy stuff/rain never really materialized.   could easily have another 3" in the book.  but it is april.. hard enough to get heavy up here in may.

short lived at least and back to below normal tomorrow for a nice stretch for the most part.

 

Milwaukee news reporting lots of roads closing up here and just showed a pic from WGN/Chicago where a sink hole ate up 3 vehicles with one person in bad shape in the hospital.

 

Terrible news out of texas.   rough week.

Well that storm just created a new leak in the basement foundation. Son of a *****. I'm already battling 4

That sucks.  My mom lives in the flood zone (Mississippi River) and will get water coming up from the floor (ground water) when the river rises above 10 feet or so (its near there right now)...  Its a mess...a sump pump only does so much.  You basically have to wait until the water recedes. 

Where i live, I have 2 foot overhangs on my house, which seems to really keep the water out of the basement (never have had water down there)...  Gutters also can help.

According to NWS Chat (LOT) evacuation of Utica is currently happening due to flash flooding on the I&M Canal. They are cutting electric lines and shelters are being set up at Illinois Valley Community College. Not good.

I have hiked on the towpath of that canal at that location.  Amazing that it is flooding.

3.73" at my house, 3.98" at the CR airport south of town.  There are a lot of 5-6" reports from the row of counties just south of CR.  This may be the most rain I've ever received from what was a mostly stratiform event.  The deep moisture plume just never waned for about 24 hours.  I now have 7.95" for the month.
