Below normal: 42 days

Above normal: 13 days

Exactly normal: 1 day

 

Double digit positive and negative days at LAF since March 1:

Below normal: 23 days

Above normal: 4 days

 

Fake cold has been...impressively real, by those standards.

 

Other stats:

Snowfall since March 1: 17.7"

Days with a T or more snowfall since March 1: 18 days

 

Total precipitation since March 1: 9.28" +3.71"

There's certainly been some abysmal days in there, I'm not totally a masochist. ;) But overall, it's been bonus time for this self-professed winter lover/hater of heat and humidity. Alas, I'm running out of time.

Monthly mean temperatures and departures from normal at LAF going back to last meteorological Fall. In late response to the local weather guy's claim that it's been warmer than normal in that timeframe, in Lafayette. Maybe Hoosier can let him know. :D

 

September: 62.6º -3.6º

October: 50.6º -3.7º

November: 39.7º -3.1º

December: 36.9º +6.5º

January: 27.8º +1.3º

February: 29.2º -1.3º

March: 33.5º -7.3º

April (thru yesterday): 48.4º -2.7º

December has been the only month that was noticeably warmer to the laymen observer since July. It's been a mostly normal, trending to only below normal weather since July.

Pretty miserable day trying to get some fishing in..  either rivers were still to high or the lakes too cold with 3 foot waves lol..  On the plus side every lake I went to had at least two and as many as several  :loon:  not including me.

 

Will try again tomorrow with the nieces..  County Parks are stocked with trout and jumbo perch for the kids and the winds will be a lot lighter.
