Eh, every summer won't be a scorcher. Those that continue to ride the hot summer theme, for no other reason than using the past three as their basis, will be burned soon...no pun intended. We're overdue for a cool or around normal summer here in central Indiana.

Didn't know you guys had cool summers in and around the tropics

Last summer had a lot of fake warmth. If the dewpoints had been around 80 rather than low 60s it would have only been in middle to upper 90s rather than triple digits.

:lmao:

In chicago for the weekend. When I arrived yesterday morning I noticed some rooftops still had a dusting of snow similiar to ours, but the day ended up "warmer" than back in Detroit, complete with full sun (partly sunny and flurries at home). Yet I still froze wearing a hoodie and no coat. Back home tomorrow.

Indeed. Only issue is ammunition is coming up short these days. Try finding some .22 LR or 9mm, its a beeatch.

Yeah its total BS.. Marcus from the Eastern WX days would have a better chance of finding Bigfoot than 22LR and 9mm ammo

Homeland Security bought up Billions of rounds for "practice"   and then there is the hoarders who are hoarding for w/e stupid reasons (get rich quick  )  Probably watching too much The Walking Dead or are too gullible.

Just keep checking the neighborhood stores that sell ammo when you're out and have time and you might get lucky.. I have once, but its usually the same ole same ole "should have been here yesterday or you just missed it"  as you know and are finding out the 22lr and 9mm ammo sells out about as fast as it hits the shelves.

W/E you do - don't pay the ridiculous prices that the hoarders/get rich fast and gun show guys are trying to get for it. that just feed the shortage fire.

couple places you can check at and might get lucky but even then its like finding a needle in a haystack of late.

You can set this last link and it will alert you when something is posted for sale on other sites

One last thing that worked well for us is if you have a Fleet Farm by you.. have an associate write down the product number for whatever kind of ammo you want, then bring it up to the front service desk, they take that number and punch it in the computer along with your name and number and how many boxes of that product you would like. And they will give you a call when their computer says they got that brand and caliber of ammo in stock. It's a will call system that worked very well and was free to use.

Can't wait for the day when 22lr is on the clearance racks and the hoarders/gun show folks are begging people to buy a brick for $20 and not the 90+ they're getting for them now.

Sorry for the totally off topic random post and I was just going to send him a personal message but I thought, screw it, maybe others (like Aleksa) are also having a hard time finding ammo and this OT post might help him or her a little.

Anyways..  Just another typical April day this month.  lower 40's, mostly cloudy with a  raw wind coming off the lake.

Thanks for the links bro.

Something nutz... I saw 1 box of Federal Bulk 22LR 525rds go for almost 100.00 on GunBroker. Insane part is the amount ot bids. Crazy times we live in ATM. I feel bad for the youngsters with their dads who just wana fire their 1st .22 gun and the dads who have to search for days.

I have an RWS .22 pellet gun...  It can kill a rabbit/squirrel/etc...  Ammo is very cheap and one pump and i'm good.  Even has a scope.  German made, so it isn't junk.

Not to be outdone in Duluth though

way better than cold flooding rain or a tornado. On the other hand when the snow really starts melting in MN,WI,MI they better make sure their sump pumps are up to the task..  saying temps of 60-65 up in Duluth on Sunday..  This is just the spring Lake Superior needed though.

Just another 8-12" on top of the dumping last week for ashland and bayfield :mapsnow:

what a morning.. 44 - sun - and light wind.  Going to take it all in and do as much raking as I can before the rain..  After that I'm escaping the afternoon lake breeze and heading inland to the 60's and soak a bobber or 2 and see if I can't catch dinner.

Why I rarely watch the morning news..  The University of Wisconsin has a current budget surplus of one billion dollars.   Keep raising tuition cost for rich parents to send turtles to. Or just borrow unconscionable  amounts of money through the federal student loan program to pay outrageous tuition's.  Glad I'm not growing up today.  Random post, rant, over.

Euro still pumps major heat into the N Plains...looks like we get brushed by it, so should be good for a 60F or 2...  I still not so sure about Friday hitting 60F, at least looking at the Euro...  maybe i'm missing something....6z GFS also looks doubtful on Friday for 60F... i say this, because that is the record date for latest 60F...so we make it to Saturday, and we set new record :)

All that snow north of here, just reinforces the cold here, if/when the winds turn north.
