Chicago WX
Getting worried.. Decent day in La Crosse and Daddy Long Legs went out for a bike ride this afternoon and hasn't been heard from since. Hope he didn't jump. Looks like Mrs. DLL and DLL Jr were there to witness it.

Nice and mild after a quick cool shot next week. Hoping for a quick passing system early week without much rain!

You took lessons from my grandpa on how the whitewalls of tires should look like. sweet ride, man. Just stay out of drowning in my fishing hot spot. SpartyOn
Certain types of maples have red buds of some sort.... I see an occasional shrub with green buds. Weeping willows also have some green buds. That's it for the most part. Beeb Oaks, Hickory and Ash to name just a FEW more that you forgot to mention.
SpartyOn
Went to the shooting range today and did a little hiking. Chilly but wasn't all the bad. The wind did however cut like a knife.

Good to get some shooting in adverse conditions.. Must have really cut like a knife if it penetrated your gear. Geos
South wind up to 30 mph tomorrow afternoon in Chicago. Well that will keep the lake breeze away. That's crazy there is sub zero lows in the lower 48 this time of year!

Its called, magic cold.. might be a little fake though. pretty solid indeed.. even the avg low temp @ INL is up to 29. deep troughs..deep snow in canada, north dakota and mn..no deep modify of temps.. BowMeHunter
I didn't catch this until now: 18 degrees below normal for la crosse is pretty nippy too. what's your avg low in the dead of winter?

BowMeHunter
Hopefully the fake cold sticks around for summer. If only even avg summer after the last few I'd be tickled.. Sadly - unless mommy nature has a new trick up her sleeve I'll have the baby powder close by. wonder how far the fake record cold temps could have dropped in MN/WI if they had about 6 more hrs to radiate like in winter.. BowMeHunter
I don't even want to see April's heating bill.. Normally the furnace is shut down by now and the sun is enough heat... No sun this month and tons of 30's FTL.
BowMeHunter
late Jan around 8F ... so minus 18 would be 10 below and pretty meh for January standards. with a guess of about 6 less hrs to radiate in April and no snow cover makes that 22 low look as impressive as the Brewers 6 game winning streak with all the injuries and bullpen woes early. Eh, every summer won't be a scorcher. Those that continue to ride the hot summer theme, for no other reason than using the past three as their basis, will be burned soon...no pun intended. We're overdue for a cool or around normal summer here in central Indiana.

LOL, bad - must have been a fake sweep of the World Series winning San Fran Giants. ARam hurt - Corey Hart hurt - Mat Gamel hurt in spring as usual - Taylor Green hurt. Offense is far from bad when all are on the field and they're finding ways to score now even without. Pitching was my big question mark coming in but its good to see the young kids getting experience for the future and having some solid outings.. BP could be solid and one of the easier fixes. Long season but I'm looking forward to it no matter how 'bad' they're. every game in the books is one day closer to fall/winter Sweet dreams of when the Cubs will ever be relevant again.
