CoastalWx
I don't think one person said doom and gloom. This weekend will be nice. Definitely have to watch that cutoff to our south later next week, but dust bowl in CT looks to envelope that entire state. Days and days of dust. CoastalWx
One more snowfall for Duluth on Wed and then the melting and torch begins up there I'm blown away by the weather out there. Minot ND is -16.6 for the month. That's day after tomorrow sh*t right there. Those areas are subject to wide temp departures, but I have to imagine that's over a 1-200yr event there. Whineminster
I keep thinking of hiking up and skiing down... I thought about doing that too and time is running out. Most of those places already broke records for latest 50F readings...and record go back to the 1800s on many of those stations. Minot is going to annihilate their coldest April on record. Fargo should break it too, but it might be closer there as the torch the final few days of the month will make it or break it. Grand Forks is probably going to come in 2nd coldest. Further east like Duluth aren't going to break monthly temp records, but the snow pack records have been shattered for this late in the season. Just ridiculous snow pack...gonna be some swollen streams in the coming weeks. Hopefully they don't get like a 1-2" mild rain on top of that. Let it melt out with dry weather. tamarack
Third morning in a row with overnight lows below freezing. This morning's low: 29.3°F. Today will be the fourth day in a row of highs in the 40's. Temp departure for the month of April: -3.30°F. Down to 19-20 this morning, but at least I got to 52 in the sun yest, after a low of 17. Currently -1.5 for the month. Augusta has clouded over, and clouds were edging into the foothills as I headed in this morning, so maybe I'll join the highs-in-40s crowd. Be nice to get a warm 1" rain event to draw out the frost, but unless the forecast changes, April will make 3 months in 4 (and 4 of 6) with precip well below avg. The others, Dec & Feb, were right about avg.

ORH_wxman
Pretty late leaf-out this year. We don't even have the yellow-green flowers yet on the maples back home. Just some buds showing up. Those thorny bushes have that tinge of green to them now where the tiny leaves have started to burst through. We won't have true leaf-out until May back home I don't think. The yellow-green flowers are probably still several days away.
