canderson
Congrats Jmister! We are in Boston this weekend, horribly cold constant rain. Currently light rain and 43. Tried to get the wife to drive toward Concord to snow chase but it was a no go.

djr5001
Speaking of heavy rain, yesterday I registered an amazing 1.31" of rain in the hour from 12:50pm - 1:50pm confirmed by my Vantage Vue and my CoCoRaHS gauge. I wonder what the record rainfall is for an hour. It is good that it didn't last longer. wow that is impressive 12" Two years ago we got 2.13 of rain in 55 minutes from a stationary t-storm that collapsed right over us. Heaviest rain I've ever seen. Heaviest I have ever seen was the end of May last year... have never seen rain drops as large as they were and go from dry to completely soaked in about 2 seconds lol... unfortunately did not have either of the guages I had been using at the time out in my yard since I cut the grass the day before... there was about 4" of water in a bucket on my deck that I knew was empty beforehand - but never have calculated what that would have equalled in an official guage... I ordered a new rain guage that CoCoRaHS recommends and started daily obs ever since... would love to have a downpour like that again sometime
