Cashtown_Coop
Congrats to everyone getting rain this summer. I've only received 0.48" in the last 25 days and the grass is really showing it. It's been a battle keeping the golf course green with many early mornings and late evenings. Crossing my fingers that tomorrow rain pans out. Voyager
I hate the apps, downslope FTL I think that's our problem in Tamaqua. Many times, incoming lines of storms crash and burn near I-81 west of me, only to reform again a few miles east/southeast of me in the Lehighton/Palmerton area. NeffsvilleWx
More storms rolling through along the M/D line, but downslope seems to be killing them as well Might have to get out the sprinkler to water the lawn, I'm starting to see brown spots. MAG5035
Any reports from the northern side of State College (especially the Houserville area and just west of there)? That one storm has been sitting over the same area for awhile. Doppler estimates up over 1.5" with it. Might have to watch for a flood warning. kerplunk
I measured 2.88 inches from that storm. Have never seen it rain that hard for that long in the 15 years I've lived in Toftrees. A car needed to be towed from in front of the Ale House due to being flooded out and, of course, Fox Hollow was closed - something which is becoming a regular occurrence in spite of minor remedial efforts. sauss06
With the Mid-Atlantic softball regionals this weekend I was to busy to post. Friday when that storm rolled in, I was in Lancaster County at a wedding, however we had Marble Size hail in Summerdale, with a variety of trees down at numerous locations, basically the same as what dj and Canderson reported. Our FD was one of the companies at the tank fire in Hampden Township. We are on the Cumberland County Foam Task Force and one of the largest suppliers of foam and foam appliances in the region. canderson
Not sure how much it has rained in the past 4-5 hours, but it is measured in whole inches, not tenths of inches. Jesus.
canderson
And whatever is sitting over Mount Gretna hasn't moved in an hour and means serious business. Might be a 3-4" mark there.
wxmeddler
Yeah, 3.5-4" on some of the PWS's out there. Starting to get on the edge of major problems with that kinda rain.
