WEATHER53
Baro way up there Temps. went from 52 at 5:30 to 32 at 11:30. Too bad precip couldn't get in tonight. Even with a miracle cloud up at exactly the right time we will still get to 45F at the coolest for a high. Won't work but man it feels mid Jan cold out there right now. Four Seasons
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate an update on cherry blossom blooms in the tidal basin. Maybe an idea of where things will be this coming weekend. I drove the GW Parkway/14th Street Bridge Wednesday morning. The early-blooming trees are in full bloom, but there were many more trees which weren't showing much from what I could tell. If you can, go on Sunday. Hope this helps! Swiscaster
I was just about to post something on the record low at IAD. Impressive cold for this time of year. Feels as cold as some of the coldest mornings during the winter. Yesterday was also brutal with that wind. These 70s can't come soon enough for me. snowfan
Really not that bad out at my place this morning. Just a bit of car roof top frost, but that was about it. Nothing more than a fleece jacket required.
WxUSAF
24.7F for the low. Pretty chilly. Saw a sundog this morning to the right of the sun in the high cirrus clouds.
mattie g
Got down to 25 here last night. Chilly. If the wind holds off, it might actually feel reasonably nice in the sun today, despite what will be easily a -10 departure.

mattie g
6z GFS really digging the warm up for next week. Near 80F for Tuesday-Thursday if we avoid a marine layer? And I'll be in Shreveport 'effing Louisiana for our first real warm up. It'll be warm there and all, but it's not the same. I get in on Friday night, so I'll probably wake up on Saturday morning and the trees will look nothing like when I flew out on Sunday.

EastCoast NPZ
23F low last night. Awesome. Love those cold, clear, crisp nights. Hopefully, these last two nights keeps the grass at bay for a little while longer, as I'm in no hurry to move on to mowing season. Looks like that's it for the hard-freeze type lows until fall. Hurry back gorgeous weather; hopefully see you again in October.
Eskimo Joe
Looks like this warm up may be for real next week. I sure do hope so, since it'll get the streams and reservoirs primed for fishing.
arlwx
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate an update on cherry blossom blooms in the tidal basin. Maybe an idea of where things will be this coming weekend. As of noon looking off the 14th Street bridge, except for a few pink trees the Tidal Basin cherry blossoms are still in hiding. This may change by the middle of next week. Are you "concerned" about the marine layer because of climo or setup? I haven't looked close at anything, but the GFS has a primarily SWerly flow. I don't see much in the Atlantic that would scream marine layer to me, but that's just one look at one model.
