Mrs.J
Damascus better watch out. And these storms keep firing up directly to my south by just a few miles. I am just south of the Ballenger Creek area.
TalcottWx
Just woke up from a six hour nap to see a supercell looking storm to my west. Hardly expected that to be this close when im 53F and fogged in

Ian
Weird airmass. Flipped like a switch just when standing out. Could see the line then went back to marine air with no vis in the sky. this was the line before that -- middle one was the 'hook' cell

Someone posted it on FB. Yeah, I'm with you that it would need to be spectacular to be seen through the light pollution. Although, the one time I've seen the northern lights was in a (fairly bright) suburb. This forecast says no dice: http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/NorthAmerica/2013/04/

Good marketing ploy for Accu maybe. No one actually expects to see the aurora around here but the opportunity will get them a billion shares etc. I do think it is possible in theory to see them even into the cities around here--at least a place like the national mall with a long exposure. Probably need a crazy storm though. My dream pic.

FrederickWX
funny today cwg social followers are complaining it's too chilly. this is spring. oy. Depends on where you are, I suppose. It's mostly cloudy here, with a 10-15mph NW wind gusting to 21-25mph. People are wearing coats and jackets. It's chilly, especially when compared to the warm weather last week. It was actually nicer this morning when it was sunny and we had less wind. The warmth later next week will be nice. Just a shame that it turns colder the following week.
