TalcottWx
Getting 90 at local stations near me P.s. spring exploded over night in terms of plants etc. Trees all of a sudden have buds and beautiful flowers on some trees. Grass getting green. Nice.

Grass getting green. Nice. The Inner Harbor runs too warm. BWI's temp of 85 is much more realistic for many areas outside Baltimore City itself. H2O
I forgot to stock up the cooler with water this morning. Not in the routine yet so total fail. 7-11 had a nice deal on 1L water bottles. 2/$2 and i've pounded one already. Was glad that I had a can of SPF 30 in the truck. mattskiva
87/59 IMBY. Feels muggy. Would be better if dewpoint was about 15 degrees lower.
North Balti Zen
Just walked from my bldg on Charles up toward where mapg works to do some banking. Hot. Kinda silly hot. Glad qet back to something more seasonal this weekend.

I take a lot of those local stations readings with a grain of salt. Especially ones that are hotter than others in the area.

mattskiva
Love that map of daily highs/lows - note the dots in Colorado - we have a cabin there, and this morning at 5:30am the overnight low was -2 degrees. That's a big temperature differential.
mattskiva
So I have a question. Are there any local weather stations that report soil temperature? Rumor has it that the cicadas will be back this year once the soil temp hits 65. Before you all lambast my lack of knowledge, I fully admit to not know what the heck I am talking about on this particular topic, but wondering if there is a place to track this and be prepared for the coming invasion. yoda
Did you just move to the area? Yes from Michigan Sometimes we can see temps go up on SW winds during the summer... so I was asking if it would have to be only a west wind for us to rise that high. yoda
What does Earl Barkers site say about it? Mid level lapse rates are good for some hail today if we can get some storms to fire
FrederickWX
we've probably hit 90-92 already...its already done A lot of 89-91 temps showing on weather underground map, so it's probably likely. It's not like yesterday where there were just one or two standing out from everywhere else. Pretty widespread today.
