Also saw my first two lightning flashes of the spring season on the drive in. This rain should go a long way toward starting the various lawns/grass to grow.

Not to mention help knock some of the pollen out of the air

Wow over performer.  1.72 overnight out at my WV place.

Going out tomorrow with U haul to move stuff out.  Happy and sad day for me letting go of that property.

Not sure when I will shut down the weather station out there? In any case soon there will be one less station in WV and one more station here in VA.

Should be spectacular weather for moving stuff.

The grass IMBY is already much greener than it was even a week ago.

68 in my bedroom without any AC, awesome.

It's already jungling up here. Last few big trees are giving in and greening.

I guess that was a premature call?  :maprain:

Well what I meant was that as of 10:39 last night I did not think it would start before midnight. Looking back at radar it looks like it may have started just before midnight, but also my station is not set up to record so the rain gauge resets at midnight. So as of midnight this morning is when I accumulated that inch. I knew it would rain, but I did not get any rain before the end of the day. So I don't think it was too premature based off of start time. :)

Looks like all of the models want to pop up a shower or storm with the actual front later this afternoon.

THE BACKDOOR BOUNDARY WILL SLOWLY LIFT NORTH AS A WARM FRONT

TOWARD THE MASON-DIXON LINE THIS AFTERNOON WHILE THE COLD FRONT

SLOWLY PASSES THROUGH THE AREA FROM WEST TO EAST. A WARM AND MOIST

AIRMASS AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT WILL CAUSE MORE SHOWERS AND

THUNDERSTORMS TO POP UP LATE THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON. MODERATE

INSTABILITY...MID-LEVEL DRY AIR WHICH CAN BE SEEN ON THE WATER

VAPOR LOOP AND A SUFFICIENT WIND FIELD ALOFT SUGGESTS THAT STORMS

WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL ALONG WITH

LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS. THE BEST CHANCE FOR T-STORMS WILL BE NEAR

AND EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE LATE THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON.

Temp at home has popped to 69 and clouds are thinning.  Was muggy when I stepped outside at lunch.  First DPs in the 60s at DCA I think.
