Oh yes we did... The Weather Channel has named Winter Storm Walda, our 23rd named storm of the 2012-2013 season. Walda could bring well over a foot of snow to parts of the West including parts of the Denver metro area where it's currently in the 60s. Unless it's Denver, NC I don't give a damn.

I am becoming an expert forecaster around western NC. From Asheville to Raleigh and everywhere in between. Several people starting to notice.

I love to watch the rooster crow,
He's like so many men I know
Who brag and bluster, rant and shout
And beat their manly breasts, without
The first damn thing to crow about.

Well, Meteostar is giving me a shot at the 30's on Masters Weekend, which is usually the case, but I'm grieving for winter early as today I got scared out of my skin by a snake out on the back line, and it seems a mite early for snake scares.  But...when the snakes come out, then winter is over for sure.  So....the long misery begins.  Hurry winter on swift wings.  T

I need to move to Denver.  Mild temperatures, tons of snow, mountains nearby.  What's not to like?  You get 50"+ of snow per year with the average high never getting below the mid-40s.  The temperature swings are nuts there.

Got to love Denver's upcoming forecast.  From 60s to 12 to 60s again.

  • Tonight - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the evening.
  • Monday - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a light and variable wind becoming south 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
  • Monday Night - Rain showers likely before 10pm, then rain and snow showers between 10pm and 1am, then snow after 1am. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 21. Blustery, with a north northeast wind 8 to 13 mph becoming north 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  • Tuesday - Snow with widespread blowing snow before 1pm, then snow likely with areas of blowing snow after 1pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 23. Blustery, with a north wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
  • Tuesday Night - Snow likely before 7pm, then a chance of snow between 7pm and 1am, then a slight chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Blustery, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

  • Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.
