Shawn
Anyone else notice TWC now chasing tornados? Haha, they are in ARK and I'm not quite sure they know what's gonna happen around Little Rock later on. I turned it off, but funny non-the-less. TWC is turning into a new reality show network. metalicwx366
Closing school due to thunderstorms. It's only a 45% area and not even hatched. This has been the case the past 2 days and what only 2 tornadoes.

This has been the case the past 2 days and what only 2 tornadoes. Better safe than sorry. With NC only getting nightly convection typically, my delays/closings are driven by power outages or down trees on the roads.

Poimen
*Urgent*The National Weather Service has issued a Pollen Storm Warning (PSW) for central North Carolina effective immediately. Heavy pollen storms are forecast to increase overnight, with accumulations of 1" per hour possible in the heavier bands. The heavy pollen will create hazardous driving conditions, reducing visibilities to below 1/4 mile.Remember, if caught in a pollen storm seek shelter immediately indoors, cover eyes and mouth, and swallow a gallon of Benadryl.*End*

We had it 2 years ago alslo with that storm that produced a severe thunderstorm warning for every county in GA. It was 5am so I wasnt up to see it. One of those awe inspiring weather events I've experienced. I don't think I've ever mentioined it on this forum before. It was a storm that hit on a late spring- early summer night. It hailed for many minutes. It looked like a snowstorm after it was over. I would estimate a solid 2-3 inches of small marble sized hail. Incredible.Actually found some links March 6th 1992 and it says 6 inches of hail. http://ourgeorgiahistory.com/year/1992

SharonA
The pollen drop is starting. I'm seeing yellow poofs on most of the pine stands here, and there already is pollen-scum accumulating on the surface of relatively still waters. *whine* Still stuck in the office, when I'd rather be fishing. Hoping that the front and associated wx doesn't interfere with tomorrow's fishing.

I would consider myself very unlucky if I do not witness hail at least once per year. Usually pea size the most tho. Never witnessed any hail bigger than a quarter size IMBY...golf ball size reported nearby tho.
superjames1992
I remember when I was in grade school I was in the car with my mother on the way back from Charlotte when a very violent hail storm hit. We managed to escape under a gas station roof, but many people who couldn't get in got their cars dented, windshields cracked, etc. It lasted quite awhile and also had a lot of thunder and wind. I haven't seen anything like it since. Frankly, it's been awhile since I've seen hail, now that I think about it.
WilkesboroDude
My hail chances may be more elevated tho due to more elevation and increased storms along the blue ridge etc...last summer storms were significantly lacking along the mountains each day. I had read somewhere since Vortex was funded by some government stuff, they weren't allowed to have anyone with them anymore. I just noticed Bettis and some other random in a car driving down the interstate. I rarely watch TWC though.

A guy walks in the building with what looked like ice cubes from a tray. And we were like what's that? He's like, it's hail. I was like quit playing! And I went and looked outside . There was alot I've pea sized hail , but every once in awhile you would see a golf ball size one or slightly larger in the mulch. Dented my truck, busted the bug deflectors, biggest I've seen in my life. Still have the dents because that was awesome!! :)
Jon
Yo Wilkes quit filling your thread with BS because no one is posting in it. Keep the disco thread (you created) to USER discussion....we all have twitter, facebook, and can follow blogs too. You don't have to post what every single met is thinking...in fact, a mod should be getting rid of that. There's a thread for "tidbits and teasers from around the web", use it. Also, as downeastnc posted in your thread, if you're following storms in Arkansas, go to THEIR subforum and post there. Christ man. All you do is fill threads with rubbish. Brad P's pic showing the simulated reflectivity of 50+ dbz cell as the "most dangerous storms" is meant for people who don't look at weather models. He puts the label "future radar" on it for a reason, the general public doesn't know what composite reflectivity means and they certainly have no idea what all those colors mean. People always post social media info for winter weather events, namely from Robert, so I don't see why it is a problem just because I am quoting someone else for nonprofit interests. A tidbit or teaser is to get someone to pay for more, I am not putting that on anyone. I think it is okay to post about a storm or two if it has a tornado emergency on it just to track it here in our region. Why should the rules bend now? No one is making you read my BS do something else bro and leave the few who want to have it there see it.
