Nothing too impressive on the cams this morning in wi..  Seems like the storm was kinda a dud in parts of nw WI.      NE wisconsin did ok though.   Green Bay tacked on to their 70"+   winter.. They've been killing it up there the past 3 winters or so.

North of Green Bay.   Nice Friday AM scene to wake up to and enjoy a cup or 3 of Java.

2.12" the final storm total at LAF.

Cold start to April has been wiped out with the recent torch here, now at +0.6º for the month. Though we'll slip back to below after the next couple of days. Then back above early next week...then back the other way, then...

I could tell it wouldn't be great yesterday when the snow band was fairly thin and quick moving.  Besides the Lake Superior counties, I think most of NW Wisconsin had under 3" of snow.

I've had over 4 inches of liquid over the past 5 days.  Next system doesn't look very wet, but the one after that could mean trouble.  Could handle this if it was late spring or summer with a warm sun and green vegetation to soak up the water.  Unfortunately the soil conditions are still very winter-like which could lead to some serious flooding if we get another big rainstorm next week.

I wonder what camera/equipment/software he uses to get that?  Almost looks like a trail cam

GRR talking about freezing rain potential north of I-96 on Wednesday.  That while the I-80 corridor basks in 70 degree temperatures.  Now the 12z GFS is getting close suicide watch territory in the long range.  Keeps pushing the warmup back and back again.  Just like winter kept getting pushed back in December and January, now spring is the same deal.

And I thought the long range was looking bad 6 days ago.  :axe:

I'm with Alek.  Summer cancel.  Punt till eternity.  lol

Coincidentally, my CoCoRaHS storm total - 2.12".

That's a really crisp image. One of the clearest wx cams I've seen.

Wow Harrisale, that's a lot of ice for April!

Sitting at 40° and cloudy this morning. Supposed to be 44° or so today.

Drink heavily.

Additional 0.25" since this morning, and still raining at the moment, puts us over 2" for the event.

Not as bad as I thought it would be out here. Chilly obviously, but manageable. Ball not flying real well in the cold, and I did blade a 5 iron shot earlier and I am pretty sure my hands are still tingling.

Interesting. DTW is at -3.7º and GRR is at -4.7º for the month (through 4/11). I hadn't realized how tight the gradient has apparently been on these warmups. Looking at the extended, I'm not seeing a path to get to an above normal average for the month for lower MI. We should be nearly at 60/40 at DTW and it looks like we'll reach or exceed on that on Monday within the next week and that's about it.

For DTW, FMA 2013 would be the first three-month below normal temp run since DJF 2010-2011. The last four-month below normal temp run was MJJA 2009.

Downed trees and branches in the city power officials say it'll take up to 18 hours to restore to everyone. State of emergency for western Waterloo Region maybe other areas. Massive damage in rural areas with snapped power poles and fallen trees may take a week to restore power in those areas. Major ice storm here

I am surprised people follow the GFS right now. It isn't pumping its heights far enough northwest and is the outlier among the globals.

Long range is always prone to change, especially in the warm season.

The Euro has more warmth and t-storm potential next week, but it's similarly cold afterwards.  So possibly one nice day this weekend with a shot at 60s, another mild rainy period where we may or may not break into the warm sector, then another brutal onslaught of cold.  I know snow weenies would like the GFS but I highly doubt we'll see a snowstorm.  Minneapolis, maybe.  I'll pass on nickle and dime snow dustings in April.

Saw the pictures this morning on the TWN and it was showing the damage you're describing.   We escaped here with just a bit of freezing rain for a couple hours during the night.  I'll pass on the ice storm -  did that routine in April 2003 and it was a real mess....  How did you fair IYBY?

More likely it will stay in the 40s here until Memorial Day, then sudden mid 90s.  We'll go from buds to full sized leaves in 48 hours.

Lol. Yeah something like how last Morch played out - just later. With the lake being close and all, I've seen some drastic temp jumps like that before in May.
