The dewpoint is now down to freezing here with a temperature of 37.

Maybe you'll see some ice pellets tonight. Too warm near the lake here for dewpoints near freezing.

Solid moderate rain here.

I walked outside and it feels like pre-snowstorm weather.  Nasty cold east wind.  Smells like winter again too.  The nice spring-rain / wet-soil smell is completely gone.

177-192 is not pretty looking for the western lakes!

I'm all about warmer weather and storms now, but that would be pretty sweet.  Can't imagine getting that much snow in late April.  Definitely would be cool to watch.  No leaves on the trees yet so don't have to worry about tree damage.

Cue the forum mall cops to belittle you for looking at the 180hr GFS.

Haha.

Lol, Even if it doesn't snow, it might be another cold rain system like this one!

RN+ right now. Sounds like a summer thunderstorm rain. ...and thunder! That was loud.

Suddenly has become very windy on the back side of this rain.  Getting gusts over 40mph easily right now.  1.98" of rain for the day now, but it's pretty much over.

EDIT:  Gusts have to be pushing 50mph now.  Wow.  Must be some sort of wake low.

Looked up my weather station info and it was in fact some sort of gravity wave or wake low.  Look at the pressure drop in a very short amount of time.  Also, winds went from calm to gusting over 30mph.  In reality winds were gusting over 40mph, but my weather station sits to low to catch the higher gusts usually.

EDIT:  Just noticed the huge spike around 6am in pressure.  That was right around when that elevated bow echo blew through.

Wisconsin just added a seventh color to their smorgasbord of a map, with a brown/teal high wind warning issued.  Now let's go for a Blizzard Warning perhaps near and along Lake Superior for an eighth different watch, warning or advisory.

does a special marine warning that is out count for 8?

Lost power for about 5 mins when the wind came through here..   only got about  a half inch of rain but the yard looks like we got about 2"   Ground must be about totally waterlogged.

Sitting at 3C at 6am, I'm thinking that Hamilton will escape the worst of the ice storm that's coming. We might pick up 10mm, maybe 15mm of ice but I doubt more than that. Enough to cause problems but not a major ice storm here. Worst of it will definitely be west of Toronto away from the lake.

Same temp here but the dewpoint has crashed to -5.5c at 6am. I think the warm air aloft will be shallow enough today for most PL rather than ZR. And even if the warm air deepens and we get complete melting of the flakes/pellets, I have to think it's going to have a hard time glazing during the daylight hours. The bigger surge of moisture this evening is going to be the big concern. However, I agree with you that the highest threat for sig icing is likely to be north of Toronto.
