I love this April so far. Since the first 5 days, mild, getting wetter and plants are surging. Should have another nice wave next week!!!! Last years was to bland. Nothing really cold, but any over warm periods outside one day, lack of storms.

I want the next low a couple hundred miles further NW.  Being stuck north of the warm sector the whole time is annoying.

Yep, though if this next low is anything like this one, it may not be so bad being stuck north of the warm sector and still receiving impressive non severe t'storms.

That would be nice.  I only got one good electrically active t-storm from this system though and that was yesterday late afternoon.  Looks like the instability is dwindling now though, warm air getting shunted south.  Probably just going to be plain stratiform rain tonight and tomorrow. zzzzz...  I'm now getting irritated seeing all the action way down in Indiana.  So close but too far...

Off to a good start today. Unless the stuff overnight peters out we will probably surpass 1" by the time it's done.

0.88" so far today. 1.00"+ shouldn't be a problem, looking at the current radars.

6:00pm temps...50º at LAF, 77º at IND. Nice gradient.

EDIT: 48º now at 6:26pm.

12z NAM didn't fare so hot here today. Started off too cool this morning actually, but really missed the boat in the afternoon and evening.

Time...predicted temp...actual temp

12z...64...67

15z...68...72

18z...70...61

21z...69...59

0z...70...49

Rainfall...well, it was a total disaster for the NAM. Total precip from 12z to 0z...

NAM predicted: 0.17"

Actual at LAF: 1.37"

Like I said the other day, front yard is getting thin and showing some grass (thank u god) and the backyard is still deeper.  Last nights snow melted today and I suspect tonight's snow will as well.

Seem to be stuck in the 30's forever tho.  Even N Michiganders have the right to start complaining in mid April

1.48" total today through 9:00pm at LAF. Highest calendar day rainfall amount since October 23, 2012, which was 1.53". More rain moving through at the moment, so we may surpass that number. In which case, 1.65" on August 27, 2012 would be next.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the precipitation type overnight especially in the northern part of the MKX warning area. The GRB sounding showed a pronounced area of dry air near the surface and the dew point at KFLD is 28 degrees with surface temp at 37, so there will be wet bulb cooling at the onset of precip. There's the possibility of some solid icing up there if everything works out.
