3.75" additional?  :axe:

A lot of basements are going to flood if that happens.

Yep, that's additional!

My pond is already overflowing a bit. Have a feeling the neighborhood's yard downhill will be a swamp if 2"+ of rain is coming.

Thankfully it will take more than that to get the rivers to flood badly given how low they were after a dry March.  The problem is there's no green vegetation to take up the water and it seems like the ground must be still frozen deep down.  Puddles are already huge.

Models have been awful for here, but no surprise I guess. I think we're at 0.02" total. Starting to think we may not get to 0.50" total for this entire storm/system. Off to a terrible start in the rainfall department here so far this Spring. Better not be a trend...

I certainly hope not.

I doubt it.  You guys have just been in a local screw zone as of late.  The lower Mississippi Valley and southern Plains have decent rainfall, unlike last year.  Of course in Michigan several month long localized screw zones can form in summer.  Just don't see how it will be as widespread as last year.  The drought last year started in Arkansas and worked it's way north.  This year it's pretty wet down there.

Good-ole Skill-dog lookin 'sharp.

Nasty night out tonight. Rest of the week looks the same.

Hoping that Snow shower activity on Friday pans out to the put a nice cap on the wintry-wx season..

Lake breeze is gonna be going strong deeper into Spring this year compared to last year! These windy/chilly nights certainly aren't helping the warming process..

A lot of the Plains are worse off right now compared to last year at this time. One of the remarkable things about last year is how quickly the drought got out of control. Some of the infamous droughts of the past had wet seasons/years mixed in before resurging so it will be interesting to see if something like that happens.

Looks like chances for some wet flakes for northern IL dwindling on recent model runs.  Models hang the weakening deformation to the northwest and stall it out as it weakens, so that it really never rotates through here like it had been shown for several days.  Fine by me, I'm ready for some more 70s.

Fine by me. The 37° out now is cold enough.

Only 0.21" of rain here today, while 20 miles north Racine got over 2".

RAP showing widespread 85°+ readings in the OV tomorrow.

What is the "Maryland forecast model" lol

Lol, Maybe it's referring to the all the models averaged out of the main NOAA office in MD? I wondered why he put it like that too. Then I was pretty sure he said this is the RPM.

Edit: 12:45am: Rain starting to blossom over the area again.

Missing most of the rain just to the north overnight so far which is good.

1.77" of precip yesterday.. looks like it tied the record back in 1973 which had 11+ inches of snow in Milwaukee and a foot in Madison.

I like cold weather but this is some pretty BS stuff and we have 3 more days of 30's and rain.. It's like the first part of winter all over again except Madison is not getting buried in snow.
