wisconsinwx
Move north by me...don't have to worry about 80F until at least June. Seemingly so this spring. Looks like we're locked into an active pattern in the region for the next couple of weeks, which probably means plenty of rain/storms and 40s in the offing for us. on_wx
Saw some black, very old snow piles still hanging on at the mall today. Its ironic how something SO beautiful when it first falls looks like, well.... Eww our snow piles look nothing like that. The heck is in the snow in SEMI? Chicago WX
Nice fun temperature gradient across Iowa at 11:00am. Winter in the north/northwest, Spring in the south. KS and NE also interesting.
Hoosier
Meh. 80º+ at LAF is a lock. Too early for this crap. We'll see.
Chicago WX
We'll see. Still seven hours of heating. And it's LAF. La la la...
B-Rent
Warming quickly here...already up to 74. Looks like we will get enough clouds coming in to prevent 80. Meh. 80º+ at LAF is a lock. Too early for this crap. Take it for what it's worth, the car thermometer has us at 78º right now. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Hoosier
Still seven hours of heating. And it's LAF. La la la... Visible satellite says we could be dealing with some high clouds. Besides, Chad went with 74-79 ...you really think he would miss an 80?
wisconsinwx
No wonder my point was lowered to 37F, hard to see any breaks in the clouds during the daylight hours with one batch of rain on the wane and another one on the doorstep.
hawkeye_wx
Got a strong storm overnight and another cluster of cells moved through this morning, dropping another 1.08". We are well on our way to 3+ inches for the week. After last year's severe drought and the long, late winter it's real nice to experience lightning/thunder and heavy rain. All the convection has helped push the front south of I-80, so we are down to the upper 40s.
daddylonglegs
Stuck in the 30Fs here...maybe if this deluge ever lets up we might rise the temps a little. Just watching the rain flow into the yard, it must be soaking in some..because its not pooling up... should be around an inch now.
beavis1729
Cheyenne WY is currently 8 degrees. It was 12 at midnight, which is the high temp for the day so far. If this high temp holds, it will be a -41 departure (normal high is 53).

If this high temp holds, it will be a -41 departure (normal high is 53). Wow! --- Have had a few downpours this morning, but they only amounted to 0.15". About 39° right now. Looks like the warm front is up to Joliet.
daddylonglegs
Geos- http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/centgrtlakes_lite_loop.php That should catch you later?/ Almost done here according to radar... should have some time to dry out this afternoon. Jonger
Long range GFS looks terrible for any prospects of normal temps... Looks -5 to -10 for the next 15 days overall.

Geos
DLL - yeah I'm watching that complex. Thinking it will curve to the right a bit and follow the warm front. Will be a couple hours before it gets here.

Chicago WX
Goes against my better judgement, but had to post the fairly sick temperature gradient in IL, IN, and OH...as displayed on 12z 4km NAM for tomorrow.

michsnowfreak
Eww our snow piles look nothing like that. The heck is in the snow in SEMI? Most of the snow piles that have already melted werent nearly as dirty. Those were once huge piles and the very bottom is probably snow from December. Typical grime of ancient snow. Im sure once the last of the biggest piles of the oldest snow melts up there it will look the same.
