the storm that rolled in last night around 10:45pm dropped some major hail, some the size of quarters. It lasted about 3-4 minutes and covered the gound. It even set off car alarms. I looked at the screens on my windows this morning and the hail actually shredded some parts. Pretty good start to t-storm season.

I know some folks have heard enough about winter :) ...but Marquette has broken a record for the highest snow depth for so late in the season.

Records in Marquette go back to 1962.

This morning's depth is 34"; the old record for so late in the season was 32" (also on today's date).

Grand Marais MI still has 37" on the ground.

Frost in the ground here is pretty much gone now. Was able to dig down a foot yesterday. Pretty mild right now around 45° - mostly cloudy though. Snow melt and bit of rain has kept water bodies up and my sump pump going on a regular basis so far this spring.

Last bit of snow left in the yard down to the size of a dinner plate. Should be gone in an hour or so.

We are never going to leaf out...

I feel ya.  It's frustrating seeing the warm sector stuck to the south with such a tight gradient.  I think even 40-50 degree rains well help the grass green up and get some of the early spring flowers growing.  Late week still looks crappy but the ECMWF and GFS have at least trended a hair north now for Monday through Wednesday.

This week looks like s***, the Euro keeps us in the 30's Wed-Sun.

About the same as how the brewers are playing ...  but yeah...after tomorrow its garbage.

I did notice the lilacs are really starting to bud up...showing some green even...

Where the heck is the sun today?  All clouds here and NWS had us in sun today...  garbage forecast again.

Not a snowstorm, but it does spit out some accumulating slush around 120 hours. It's been consistently colder than the GFS wrt this storm.

Should hit 60 for this first time in 2013 today.

Heres the 0z euro text output for YYZ. Curious to see if the 12z run holds its ground.

Another torch here today, and most of this upcoming week looks about the same. Tropics of Indiana never fail.

Gonna do my first driving range session of the spring today. My game isn't course worthy yet.

Alas, the weather remains dreadfully boring in the LAF. Snooze city.

The lineup they are putting out on the field today is pretty pathetic.

Anyways, the skies have cleared so maybe we can make 50 before the lake breeze kicks in.

Sun out the last hour or so...temps have responded..v.ery nice day for yard work.

Can't complain about temps in the 50Fs...some of the best weather to do yard work.  Digging holes for a fence because my kids have a habit of running away.  Pruned all my trees....  Probably put on a thong if it gets too warm and tan my white Wisconsin body.

This is my favorite temperature range, alot like Florida in January. Especially with all the sunshine.

Up to 54 with full sun and no wind.  Feels great.  Should make the low 60s today.  Looking forward to some overnight rumblers.  :guitar:

Early this morning the nws had upper 50s, then lowered it to mid 50s.  They just released a new forecast saying steady in the mid 50s, but it's now 59.  The models have been consistent with near 60, so they were pretty good.

Models have all shifted tonight's storm complex southeast of Cedar Rapids.  We might get some lighter rain on the nw edge.
