nw baltimore wx
dude, who gives a ****. it was like 630. quit whining. I do. If they aren't going to get it right, then maybe they shouldn't report totals. And by the way, when I quoted you, I got to see the full monty. Is that really necessary? jnis
Just passed 3.1" in Clarksburg. In these marginal events, you usually get around 25% more than me due to your elevation (and in this case, being east of me). Even though it will snow for a while yet, I'd guess we are done accumulating as it is now 31.9F and the quite bright so a fair amount of insolation is pushing through. Thanks for the update. I'll figure somewhere around 4" . I'm if FLA so is missed the fun. This will have put MBY at about 18" for the season.

midatlanticweather
Still just rain for me in Sterling - rates just not strong enough here - looks better east - and it sounds like that helped Tysons mix.

WVclimo
Interesting that I still have 95% snow cover here after a full day of late-March sun angle. Generally about 2" on the level. High temp made it to 35. 34 now, with a snow/rain mix.
Bob Chill
My temp dropped from 38 to 35.2 last hour or so. Still lt rain with no mix. No biggie. I'm satisfied with the event. DC might not have broken their steak but my yard did. I'm done tracking. Prob good for my mental health.

Maybe this year if my schedule allows I may try to get into severe a little, it is fascinating. easier than it looks tho it took me a while. basically look for turning with height.. good low level winds, temps cooling with height, moisture depth, temp/dp spread. the area between the dashed line (virtual temp) and the red line (temp) is your cape. very slight cap above 850 but obviously not a problem.. probably helped that day to keep crapvection from forming too early. You linked me to that severe vid seminar and I watched a chunk of it. What I thought was really cool was the part about getting a bead on upsteam severe soundings from a day or 2 before and making an educated guess where they end up downstream if you want to chase. That resonated with my way of thinking.

Is that really necessary? well, then don't quote me, and don't reply to a conversation that didn't include you. i "originally" responded the way i did because i'm not gonna sit here and let someone tell me i don't know how to measure snow when they bailed on a storm hours before it was supposed to happen. anyway, i'm done talking about this storm and measurements, and whatever else. it was fun while it lasted and that's all that matters. time for spring.
