So much whining last night and yet everyone woke up to snow.

everyone worries some of us just post too much. not sure anyone was truly jumping off a cliff at 10pm when most of us knew the best model time was to come.

split the uprights between the pessimistic calls and the too high calls it seems.

definitely hit my ceiling imby.

now time for winter to gtfo.

Who besides TWC was higher than what we actually got?  Now that I think about it, everyone may have hit the low end of the TWC forecast?

For locales such as Linthicum to Dundalk to Essex and Towson up to Kingsville (and around that radius as well) 4-7" is a good estimate for final totals. Sensational rates via radar there at the moment.

really, really coming down hard here

about as heavy as anything in 09/10

DT... lots of people who bought the snow maps verbatim. if you get 1-3 and a forecast was 3-6 not sure the forecast was right if you hit 3. and everyone else is lower.

I've topped Mar 6th and might end up with warning criteria. This is great.

Wish I could have stayed home today.  I mean...I probably could have, but I'm pretty dumb.

Curious to see if that backbuilding continues and we stay on the southern edge of the precip.  If we do, it'll be interesting to see totals.

And it's ripping snow at work in PG, so I can at least watch that.

Couple pics from my office - rooftop shot from behind my building, and a view of Charles Street. Main roads around here at wet, but side roads are slushy. The alley behind my building was snow covered when I came in to park.

We're done accumulating now.  Snow has lightened and temps are rising.  Much easier to shovel than the Mar 6 concrete.

His, Ellinwoods, and a string of GFS maps for the 48 hours leading up to the storm have verified best out here.

DT did better than I would have initially thought. I wasn't really ruling out what happened but I wasn't expecting it either.  Just shows how 90 minutes of great rates is critical in a marginal zone.

There will be lots of back patting since it snowed but there were tons of people who were going way too high in the leadup at least here.  But, today is a weenie day so whatever. Plus they'll all be gone soon.

DT put you in the 3"-6" right?  I'd have to imagine you're getting pretty damn close to 3".

Disclaimer: I can't stand DT, a wish for him to bust anytime he opens his woofing mouth (except for IMBY of course).

i didnt measure anything much over 2.. granted it might have melted a little first. probably some generous measurements with this storm. 3-6 is not a good range for me despite what happened.

I can't do any back patting. My guesses were way too low, especially DC-Balt
