dbc
Looks like it's getting eaten alive from the north... Yeah none of that is going to do much for alot of us. We are going to need that banding from the coastal to be further NW than every model depiction in existance, lol.
jm1220
Heavy band setting up almost to the mile where 2/6/10's heavy deform band set up. You can go to the beach and swim out to it it's so close. These graze storms are literally my least favorite kind to watch. And the cutoffs always seem to be in the same spot.

Yes southern Staten Island to just south of Coney Island there seems to be a heavier band setting up , it does seem to be moving slowly north though, hoping southern coastal section can part of the action this time around. IsentropicLift
Precip is now starting to make significant advancements over most of Long Island, this was pretty well forecasted. I think for eastern and southern locations patience will be virtue today. For us NW folks, it's between slim and none and slim is on life support. As a betting man ill take the euro vs any model, each storm, in any time range.

Live and learn.... totally agree and not sure why you get so much flak on this board. Never understand that this board has a double standard in not allowing people to speak their mind if they are not onboard with big snow dumps all the time and allows posters to gang up on others. By and large the weenies generally end up wrong but they keep going up to their old tricks and totally ignore how many times they have been wrong about stuff. jm1220
Dollars to donuts - the majority of the denizens in this subforum will dismiss the euro if it doesnt show the desired solution, first opportunity. Live and learn.... I had a strong suspicion it was over when the 12z runs on Sat either backed off or stopped the north trend. When that happened, it was clear the confluence was being under-modeled beforehand and this would be a minor at best event for us. And yet again, significant precip is south of where models had it. Models had .05-.15" per 3 hours falling (which is light but steady precip) around NYC, and it seems like precip is lighter than that.

It happens every storm here and it's tiresome but you move on. People should be here to want to learn something and not bicker constantly and wishcast. The signs for a miss were there if you truly looked for them. Some want to just be in denial.
dbc
Dollars to donuts - the majority of the denizens in this subforum will dismiss the euro if it doesnt show the desired solution, first opportunity. Live and learn.... Maybe you should go back and read the nonsense you were posting for the earlier February snow storm which was our biggest of the winter. When the NAM and GFS came in different than the Euro a day or so before the event while the Euro held firm, you ripped everyone and anyone who dismissed the NAM and GFS in favor of the Euro. It can't be one way over the other, if you don't want to be viewed as a snow hating hypocrite, take your own advice. All guidance should be taken into account with a lean towards the models that historically perform best in similar setups.
