Ian
LWX should really issue WWAs for central MD, given all that's happened to our south, and what guidance actually shows. what happened to the south has absolutely no impact on us
BTRWx
Don't worry. We always see precip explode over us with massive thumpage. Be patient. The wv echoes will change course and hit us too. I don't remember as much dry-slotting on the models.
mitchnick
I wish I had looked carefully at the 3 hr Euro 12z forecast on Wunderground maps it had the Richmond area snow, though not quite as heavy, but close AND it has pretty unimpressive precip for us overnight, though probably 2-3" of snow here I hope it isn't on the high side with that forecast

WxUSAF
I don't remember as much dry-slotting on the models. GFS was showing <0.1" for the 6 hours between 0-6z. So, this is all as expected. blueapple
Somewhat comical how Sterling is upgrading a handful of counties every few hours. In the end, it will be DC, Arlington, and Alexandria without anything, if the DC snow hole prophecy holds. Just need Wakefield to throw some color on the map. Pretty amazing they've been in the money zone for crazy dynamics of a rapidly deepening system twice in a row. Should be a lesson to us, that sufficient dynamics CAN overcome just about any other mitigating factor. But, they have to be pretty wild dynamics. WxUSAF
It's March 24th and I've seen snow falling from the sky 10-12 days this month. And still have a whopping 1.5" to show for it.
Ian
LOL Right on time to bust. Anyone who thinks this is working for DC north has not been paying attention this winter. their newer map is beefed a good bit in some spots west/nw. not completely sure why other than they tend to do the same thing every storm and then end up too high. perhaps current temps.. not sure how much we drop tonight tho, some for sure but maybe not a ton. we've been getting a marine flow for a while now.. going to have to wait till late in the game and when we battle sun to get the flow more northerly.
