18z the 5H is overhead

we may be able to squeeze out some sort of surprise/bonus with that cold pool

maybe tho with that lead vort rounding the base you prob get the best lift just to its northwest which also lines up with the 850 low http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/nam/18/nam_namer_024_850_temp_ht.gif

i'd be relatively shocked if i get any snow accum during the day tomorrow.. probably spitting crap or light rain.

why do people  care what TWC or accuweather forecasts....lol.....they dont know DC at all...their forecasts have no value....they are absolute garbage

exactly... but it does beg the larger question of "if their forecasting is colloquially understoofd to be so poor, why do most people get their weather from them?"

Warning in Philly, not even advisory here. Wonder how much flack they got from the feds for that whole closing for drizzle thing on the 6th? Wonder if they are going overly conservative to avoid drawing the ire of the feds again?

Mt Holly goes WWA on eastern shore and warnings around Philly. Usually they have solid coordination with Sterling, so it's quite likely that advisory is expanded.

One might call it a cowards forecast.

what is the point in being deterministic?

What they are saying is that they don't have the skill to make a precise forecast....it is actually courage and not cowardice....anyone who makes a detailed precise forecast is a complete fraud

the warning in the philly area would have a lot more basis than expanding things around here, arguably with considerable bust potential on the low end if that vv ball doesnt destroy them. tho given this can impact rush im guessing lwx will fire off advisories at least to 95 soon--unless they take road temps into strong consideration at least.

More likely they are an entertainment venue terrified of negative public opinion.

Point well taken.  A potential problem (with the public at large) would be if this system busts positive.

One approach for the NWS would be to invite the public to check in every six hours for potential

updates.
