DDweatherman
If the Euro continues to bring in a nice thump, that is a good thing for us. For the BWI and Baltimore crew along the W shore, there could be some heavy rates under UVV's that adds some accumulation. Also, I do believe a better thump equals a cooler column later. It's not a meteorological myth.
Ji
You're not getting accum worth anything during the day so this run is better than recent euro runs for you. I'll be asleep. How did u get 4-8 snowfall maps

Ji
How is .45 QPF and .6 surface temp between 2-8 a.m. terrible?. Because its not .45 and .6 surface temp between 2-8 am
ravensrule
Because its not .45 and .6 surface temp between 2-8 am I just saw that, I misunderstood Wxmeddler. It is still enough to break the streak. I still do not see how it is terrible unless you expected 8" from this.

DDweatherman
The Euro isn't markedly better, but it was a step towards the rest of the guidance. The Euro doesn't make big jumps, and its probably still right to some extent. The streak may be broken at DCA though, I am gaining confidence in it. DDweatherman
My guess for DCA is currently 0.2" It is going to be so hard to report 2" at DCA in this one, so its probably irresponsible of me. American University may break 2" heh.

AlexD
Like I said, some random dude in Delaware or on the Eastern Shore of Maryland at sea level will get a legit snowstorm out of this, so it is possible. Just not around these cursed lands. Check the Philly thread during the storm and you'll see it for yourself. I hope to be that dude....

usedtobe
My guess for DCA is currently 0.2" That would be about my guess. I don't see us breaking the streak. The suburbss might see an inch or two on grass if that lights peoples candle but that will require getting decent rates during the 1AM to 7AM period. Herb@MAWS
God bless TWC. Had to snicker to myself this morning. Local TWC forecast calls for a period of hvy snow Monday afternoon, accumulating 4"-6" and then another 1" Monday nite (the latter is believable, tho). WinterWxLuvr
LWX 4am discussion is really good.... ? In the upper section they talk about a high over NY state pumping in cold air and in the middle section they talk about the fact that there is no high to the north to draw in colder air. Scraff
Just woke up to TWC Local on the 8's. Said rain&snow, then snow heavy at times. 4-6 expected. Ummm. What?
Herb@MAWS
A most encouraging trend to see Sunday morning is with surface temperatures. Saturday high of 50. Down to 44 by 7pm Down to 37 by 11pm. Woke up Sunday morning with 6am temp 27.5, EVEN with a thin veil of clouds overhead. That kind of temperature drop doesn't happen a lot once clouds roll in. Thank-you CAD! But sun will likely burn thru the thin cloud veil and get temps into the 40s before thicker clouds arrive,
