I am concerned about the large geographic gap between the two systems.

Don't worry. We always see precip explode over us with massive thumpage. Be patient. The wv echoes will change course and hit us too.

LWX should really issue WWAs for central MD, given all that's happened to our south, and what guidance actually shows.

what happened to the south has absolutely no impact on us

I don't remember as much dry-slotting on the models.

I wish I had looked carefully at the 3 hr Euro 12z forecast on Wunderground maps

it had the Richmond area snow, though not quite as heavy, but close AND

it has pretty unimpressive precip for us overnight, though probably 2-3" of snow here

I hope it isn't on the high side with that forecast

GFS was showing <0.1" for the 6 hours between 0-6z.  So, this is all as expected.  It's the surprise RIC blizzard that once again completely shocked the world.

At east you were working during 3/6, this winter has been pathetic out here.

Good thing expectations were low to begin with.

Not sure what you were expecting, but that is very impressive around here for these days.

i think partly people just didn't pay attention and the bl ended up a smidge colder than expected. even the gfs last night had snow to ric from the first batch.

Well, I certainly will admit to not looking for what RIC was going to get for snow during daylight hours on Sunday.
