If it weren't for the sun angle in March we could have definitely achieved over 7" however huge overachiever for me with that line off to my west now and Blacksburg issuing a special weather statement for it. I strive to be positive, but they are just horrible on winter events. Holding off on watches and advisories, not changing on the fly fast enough--etc, stuff like that. Should have upgraded to warnings mid afternoon. Where is this additional 3-5 coming from? Short terms take it to our north-- is that changing? I'm not sure to be honest. Agreed. Should have been called when we were ripping dendrites for hours this afternoon and the streets were getting nasty piling up a solid 1.5-2" an hour rates.
